The exciting Premier League match between West Ham and Newcastle United at the London Stadium!

West Ham's Recent Triumphs

West Ham entered the match on a high note after claiming three victories in a row across three separate competitions. In their most recent success, they defeated Bundesliga team Freiburg 2-1 in the Europa League. After seven games, they defeated Sheffield United 2-0 in the Premier League, placing themselves securely in seventh place. But a startling figure hung over their heads: West Ham had only secured one victory against Newcastle United in their previous eight league meetings.

Newcastle's Remarkable Run

Newcastle United, on the other side, arrived in the capital city following a remarkable victory. Their spectacular 4-1 victory against Paris Saint-Germain during the previous week shocked Europe and marked their biggest-ever triumph in the Champions League group stages. Following an 8-0 demolition of Sheffield United, an EFL Cup victory over Manchester City, and a 2-0 victory over Burnley in the Premier League, this extraordinary accomplishment occurred. Eddie Howe's team sought to pass West Ham in the Premier League standings by extending their winning streak to five games overall.

Starting Lineups:

West Ham (4-2-3-1):

As the game began, the sun-drenched London Stadium watched an exciting match!

First Half: West Ham's Counter and Newcastle's Challenge

Tomas Soucek's goal gave West Ham a surprise advantage in the eighth minute and stunned Newcastle. Lucas Paqueta's wonderful pass to Emerson, who made a significant contribution, laid the groundwork for the goal.

West Ham held their ground in defence despite early pressure from Newcastle, holding their advantage. The Hammers skillfully maintained their less than 30% possession as the first half went on while keeping the game under control with their organised defensive form.

West Ham had a 1-0 lead at halftime thanks to David Moyes's defensive masterpiece. Newcastle, however, struggled to get into a routine and managed only one chance on goal.

Second Half: Newcastle's Turnaround

Newcastle started the second half trying to make a comeback. Their perseverance paid off when Alexander Isak scored in the 57th minute after Kieran Trippier delivered a free kick. The goal was verified by VAR, making the final score 1-1.

Isak of Newcastle continued his hot streak in the 62nd minute, capitalising on another Trippier assist to give his team a 2-1 lead.

West Ham remained focused on tying the score despite Newcastle's comeback. Mohammed Kudus, a replacement, scored an incredible left-footed goal to tie the score at 2-2 in the 89th minute.

West Ham's Jarrod Bowen fired a strong effort in the 90th+1 minute as time expired, but Newcastle's custodian Nick Pope made a critical save.

Full-Time: Honors Even

After beating PSG in the Premier League during the previous week, Newcastle United was unable to secure another win despite their impressive performance. Kudus' stunning equaliser allowed West Ham to save a late draw. Given the intense competition of the game, the outcome, an exciting 2-2 draw, was appropriate.

As both teams entered the international break, West Ham held a one-point lead over Newcastle. The following match for West Ham will be on the road against Aston Villa, while Newcastle will host Crystal Palace before taking on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
