At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace displayed a brilliant display as they easily defeated West Ham United 5-2 in a one-sided match. With goals from several different sources, the Eagles demonstrated their attacking ability, and West Ham found it difficult to withstand their constant barrage.

Crystal Palace:

Crystal Palace hopes to make history this season by winning back-to-back games when they host West Ham at Selhurst Park, building on their most recent 1-0 victory at Liverpool. Although the Eagles, who are presently in 14th position in the league, are eight points above the relegation zone, they have six league games left against teams who are currently higher up the standings, and their sole victory in the previous 12 London derbies came at home against Brentford in December, so winning today could be difficult. However, they have defeated the Hammers 7-5 in their three meetings and are undefeated against them.

West Ham:

With five games remaining, West Ham is now in eighth position, 12 points behind fifth-place Tottenham, and they are hoping to move up into the European spots when they visit Selhurst Park. However, they have dropped eight of their last 12 away games, haven't kept a clean sheet in 13 games, and will be hoping to recover from their most recent performance, a 2-0 loss to Fulham. Mohammed Kudus's first goal was cancelled out by Odsonne Edouard in a 1-1 draw in the rematch in December.

First Half: Palace Storm to a 4-1 Lead

Crystal Palace quickly established their superiority, sprinting to a 4-1 lead at the interval. The hosts took the lead thanks to goals from Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze, and an own goal by Emerson of West Ham. Even after Michail Antonio of West Ham scored, Palace still had the better of the match.

Second Half: Palace Extend Lead, West Ham Scores Consolation

Mateta's brace in the 64th minute made it 5-1 as Crystal Palace maintained their attacking impetus in the second half. Despite a late goal by West Ham due to a mistake by custodian Dean Henderson, the goal was only a consolation prize against Palace's impressive performance.

Palace Secure Convincing Victory

With a resounding 5-2 victory over West Ham, Crystal Palace demonstrated their attacking strength and ability to take advantage of their opponents' errors. Olise, Mateta, and Eze were among the players that contributed to the victory, which puts Palace 10 points clear of the relegation zone and their first back-to-back wins of the year. On the other hand, West Ham's difficulties away from home persist after they were unable to stop Palace's constant attack threat.
