Welcome to the thrilling match between Liverpool and Manchester United at the storied Old Trafford! Speculation is strong as supporters anxiously await the matchup between these long-standing rivals, with both teams aiming for important points.

Man United:

Three weeks prior, both teams squared off in an exciting FA Cup quarterfinal, with United winning 4-3 in the 121st minute thanks to a goal from Amad Diallo. The Red Devils' next two Premier League games haven't gone as planned, though, as they've lost 4-3 to Chelsea and drawn 1-1 with Brentford after blowing leads late in stoppage time. They had only lost two of their previous twelve games in all competitions (W9 D1) prior to the international break, and Erik ten Hag's team cannot afford any more mistakes if they hope to qualify for Europe the following season.

Liverpool:

After Arsenal's victory over Brentford yesterday, Liverpool dropped to second place in the standings, but three more points here will put them back atop the standings. Although the Reds have won six of their past seven Premier League games (W6), they have only managed one clean sheet during that time. They have also only dropped one of their previous 11 league encounters with United (W6 D4), however that was in the same matchup from the previous season, when they were defeated 2-1.

Luis Diaz gave Liverpool a well-earned 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute with a scissor-kick into the net after connecting with Andy Robertson's corner.

Second Half: United Mount Comeback, Liverpool Equalize Late

After halftime, Manchester United emerged revitalised, as Bruno Fernandes scored an incredible equaliser from long range in the 50th minute. In the 67th minute, United took the lead thanks to a brilliant strike from Kobbie Mainoo that curled past Kelleher to make it 2-1.

Wan-Bissaka brought down Harvey Elliott in the 82nd minute, but Liverpool rallied valiantly and were awarded a penalty. With a cool head, Mohamed Salah scored the spot kick to tie the game at 2-2. The game finished in an exciting tie despite both teams' best efforts to find a late victory.
