First Half: Stones Breaks Deadlock with Set-Piece Magic:

An intense match was built up in the first half, as City took the lead with a masterful set-piece routine.

A brilliant set-piece by De Bruyne led to City's breakthrough. Stones found space after Ake's fine stop of Mac Allister, and he slipped into the six-yard box to poke the ball beyond Kelleher. The Anfield supporters hushed as City celebrated taking a vital 1-0 lead.

City had a slim advantage as Michael Oliver blew the halftime whistle. Stones' goal, which came from a masterfully planned set-piece, put the two teams apart. Szoboszlai and Diaz came close for Liverpool at certain points, but City showed off their threat when they broke.

Second Half: Mac Allister Converts Penalty, Liverpool Dominates:

The second half was filled with drama as Liverpool applied constant pressure, changed goalkeepers, and were awarded a penalty.

Ake's disastrous back pass gave Liverpool a chance to salvage a point.

After Ederson challenged Nunez for the loose ball, there was a penalty. In order to tie the score at one, Mac Allister stepped up and sent the ball past Ederson's reach. Liverpool had hope again, and Anfield roared.

Liverpool dominated the second half as they repeatedly attacked and put City's defense in jeopardy.

Following Salah's expertly weighted through ball, Diaz wasted a fantastic opportunity by missing the top-right corner with his side-footed shot.

As Liverpool's supremacy grew, City had to go on the defensive.

Driven by Liverpool's continuous pressure, Nunez tried to bundle the ball into the net, but Ortega made a huge block. Liverpool pushed for an early lead but City held on for dear life.

Surprisingly, City came dangerously close to taking the lead again. Foden was struck by Kelleher's blow, which struck the crossbar. The Anfield supporters held their breath when City displayed glimmers of threat.

The last few seconds of the game were tense, contentious, and full of near-misses.

Doku's effort struck the inside of the post, depriving City of a victory against the run of play just as they were about to grab a late winner.

A late rush by Liverpool resulted in two penalty appeals. Salah and Ake's first attempt was quickly rejected. In the second, Doku booted Mac Allister high, drawing attention from VAR but not resulting in a penalty.

A thrilling match that ended in a 1-1 tie was signaled by Michael Oliver's final whistle. Both sides settled for a point as City hung on despite Liverpool's dominance in the second half. Arsenal remained at the top of the standings, with Liverpool and City in close pursuit. Football at its best was played at Anfield, keeping supporters on the edge of their seats right up until the very end.
