Arsenal met West Ham United in a Premier League match, and they made a lasting impression on the London Stadium with a brilliant show of attacking ability. Driven by their recent success, the Gunners looked to keep winning against a West Ham team desperate for vengeance for their earlier victory at the Emirates.

West Ham:

After three straight ties, the Irons' most recent Premier League match ended in a 3-0 loss to Manchester United. As of now in 2024, they have yet to win a game in any competition. Despite their unsatisfactory performance, West Ham will move up to sixth place if they take all three points at the London Stadium. Their previous league victory did come on December 28th in the rematch at the Emirates, where they defeated Arsenal 2-0.

Arsenal:

Arsenal, on the other hand, has won all three of its league games this year. They defeated Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace to bounce back from a 2-0 FA Cup loss to Liverpool. The Gunners did the same against Liverpool last time out, winning 3-1 at home. A victory here will move Mikel Arteta's team back to within two points of the top spot in the Premier League.

First-Half Onslaught:

There was a flurry of activity to start the contest, as Arsenal quickly established their superiority. West Ham fielded a strong defence, but the Gunners never gave up. The breakthrough came from a corner that Declan Rice skillfully executed in the thirty-twoth minute. Arsenal took a 1-0 lead thanks to a brilliant header from William Saliba, who climbed above the crowd. Rice's accurate delivery rendered West Ham defenceless, and Saliba rejoiced as the floodgates opened.

As Arsenal's momentum grew, they were given a penalty in minute 41. Bukayo Saka walked up to the spot with confidence, displaying his flare and accuracy. He extended Arsenal's advantage with a penalty that he skillfully hammered into the bottom-right corner. The Gunners were far from finished.

Chaos broke out in the West Ham box just three minutes later, in the 44th minute. Gabriel Magalhaes met a free-kick from Rice and headed it home to give Arsenal a 3-0 lead. West Ham's defensive errors cost them, as the Gunners took advantage. The attack persisted into stoppage time until Gabriel Martinelli was found by a perfect cross from Jakub Kiwior. With a header that made it 4-0, the Brazilian increased West Ham's dejection even further.

With a spectacular display of goal-scoring ability, Leandro Trossard brought the first half to a close. Alphonse Areola of West Ham had little chance when Trossard, on a pass from Martin Odegaard, curled a stunning strike into the top corner in the 45th minute and plus two. Arsenal led 5-0 at the interval, which was astounding.

Second-Half Dominance:

West Ham saw little reprieve in the second half as Arsenal persisted in their unrelenting attack. Saka scored his second goal of the game in the 63rd minute. Saka turned on the edge of the box and fired a low shot into the bottom-right corner, completing Odegaard's well-planned play to make it 6-0.

Six goals did not satisfy Arsenal, who kept up their impressive attacking display. Declan Rice, a former West Ham player, scored a powerful goal from 25 yards out in the 65th minute. Areola had no chance as the ball rocketed into the top-left corner. Arsenal's lead grew to a commanding 7-0.

Record-Breaking Victory:

At the London Stadium, Arsenal defeated West Ham 7-0 in an incredible game that broke all previous records. Saka's brace and the Gunners' attacking prowess demonstrated the two teams' glaring disparities in form. Arsenal's unrelenting attack left West Ham stunned, and Mikel Arteta's club is catapulted to the Premier League's upper echelons with the convincing victory. Arsenal orchestrated a footballing symphony that night at the London Stadium, leaving a lasting impression. In order for West Ham to move over this humiliating setback and go on, they must reflect on their performance and act quickly.
