Manchester City and Bournemouth squared off in an exciting Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium. With the opportunity to take the lead in the league standings, City were more confident because they had defeated Bournemouth in each of their previous 12 Premier League meetings.

City's Early Dominance:

Manchester City entered the match riding a wave of great wins, which included a commanding 3-0 triumph over bitter rivals Manchester United. They were focused on continuing their winning ways and surpassing Tottenham and Arsenal to take the top spot in the league.

Bournemouth's Quest for Stability:

Conversely, Bournemouth, who were hovering just above the relegation zone, were under pressure even after they had just achieved their first Premier League victory under manager Andoni Iraola. Things had not gotten any easier following their elimination from the EFL Cup by Liverpool.

First Half: Doku Stars for City:

With 83 percent of the ball in the first ten minutes of play, City dominated possession early in the contest. Bernardo Silva missed an opportunity to start the scoring. Then Radu stopped Rodri's shot after Silva had set him up. Rodri tried a long-range shot later, but it curved slightly wide.

In the thirty-minute mark, Jeremy Doku scored City's opening goal by swerving past defenders.

Three minutes later, Doku resumed his incredible play, putting up Bernardo Silva for City's second goal.

A Doku shot that was deflected off of Akanji into the net gave City a 3-0 advantage in the 37th minute.

Second Half: Bournemouth Tried To Fightback:

The second half began well for Bournemouth after Ryan Christie's offside goal was disallowed.

Dominic Solanke then had a chance to score, but his shot hit the crossbar with a rattle.

In the 64th minute, Jeremy Doku maintained his incredible play by sending up Phil Foden for City's fourth goal.

Bournemouth's Consolation:

The consolation goal for Bournemouth came through a pass from substitute Marcos Senesi to Luis Sinisterra in the 74th minute. Following a VAR offside assessment, the goal was verified.

In the 83rd minute, Bernardo Silva scored his second goal of the day to give Manchester City a quick response. Nathan Ake also added his name in the scoresheet by heading the ball in the net in City's sixth goal in the 88th minute.

Manchester City defeated Bournemouth 6-1, putting on a masterclass. With four assists and a goal, Jeremy Doku stole the show. Due to their impressive performance, City was able to temporarily take the top spot in the Premier League, while Bournemouth was only one spot outside of the relegation zone. Bournemouth will try to recover from their loss to Newcastle, while Manchester City will play Young Boys in the Champions League next.
