First Half - Wilson Strikes and VAR Drama:

Newcastle United, dressed in green and white, took the pitch in the first minute of the encounter at Molineux.

In the seventh minute, Wolves were alerted by a near-miss as Longstaff attempted a penetration run into the area and narrowly missed the target.

Newcastle's first goal came in the 22nd minute as a result of a mistake made by Wolves' keeper Jose Sa. Newcastle led 1-0 as Callum Wilson took advantage of the spill inside the Wolves area. Wilson made a brilliant block, but Tote Gomes was fast to respond, forcing home the rebound.

In response, Wolves levelled the score at 1-1 in the 36th minute when Mario Lemina headed the ball into the net off a Pedro Neto corner kick. Wolves' equaliser was made possible by Neto's corner delivery.

Newcastle was given a penalty in the 45th minute as halftime drew near when Hwang fouled Fabian Schar in the box. Just before halftime, Callum Wilson scored from the penalty spot to give Newcastle a 2-1 lead.

Cunha's lofted pass looked to brush Bruno Guimaraes' hand inside the box, setting off a moment of dramatic VAR action. Following a VAR review, it was decided that there was no need to impose a penalty. a major let-off for Newcastle, who managed to maintain their lead.

Half-Time - Wolves 1-2 Newcastle United:

Following a remarkable change of events, Newcastle United led 2-1 at the end of the first half. Wolves' Lemina header countered Callum Wilson's brace, which included a penalty. The drama of VAR provided suspense, as the review prevented Newcastle from giving up a penalty. The action-packed, twist-filled game promised a thrilling second half.


Second Half - Wolves' Fightback:

When the second half got underway, Wolves made a determined attempt to rally. Wilson looked to handle the ball in the box in the 57th minute, leading Wolves to believe they should have been awarded a penalty. However, a VAR assessment revealed there was no penalty.


In the 71st minute, Wolves managed to equalise for the second time. After Newcastle's custodian Nick Pope parried a weak punch, Hwang capitalised, sending the ball into the bottom-right corner to tie the score at 2-2.

When Pedro Neto, Wolves' outstanding creator, pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury, the game took a troubling turn. In the seventieth minute, he was compelled to exit the pitch.


Newcastle made a comeback in the last few minutes of the match when Doyle made an important clearance and Schar's hard shot was stopped.

The game finished in an exciting 2-2 draw. Callum Wilson's brace, combined with goals from Hwang and Lemina, turned this Premier League match into one to remember. The resiliency and will to battle back displayed by Wolves were evident in the second half. Drama with the VAR system, close calls, and surprising turns abounding in this game. Even though Newcastle lost their eight-game winning streak, they still earned an important point. Now that Pedro Neto is injured, Wolves must confront the challenge of playing in the next game without him. It was a thrilling match that demonstrated how unpredictable the Premier League can be.
