West Ham's Recent Struggles:

After losing to Olympiakos in the Europa League, West Ham went into the game. The team led by David Moyes had a great start to the season, winning three of their first four games and drawing one. Their strong performance, which included a triumph over Luton Town, had vaulted them to the summit of the standings. But the Hammers had lost their last five games and had been struggling lately. They dropped to ninth place in the standings after losing 4-1 to Aston Villa in their most recent league game. West Ham was confident despite their recent struggles because they had defeated Everton four times in their last six league games.

Everton's Bitter Derby Defeat:

In their most recent league game, Everton lost 2-0 to their bitter rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, with Mohamed Salah scoring twice for the Reds. The Toffees had won two of their previous three league games before into this loss, including convincing victory over Brentford and Bournemouth. They were just two spots and two points above the relegation zone, though, due to their sluggish start to the season, which saw them win only one point from their first five games.

First Half - Cagey Affair and Near Misses:

When the game began, both sides took it slow at first, testing each other's midfield and defense capabilities.

West Ham got off to a promising start in the ninth minute as Mohammed Kudus found Lucas Paqueta with a pinpoint pass. The Brazilian creator lofted a pass over the Everton defense, but Jordan Pickford was able to intervene because Jarrod Bowen just failed to connect with it.

In the twenty-third minute, West Ham was given a fantastic opportunity. Lucas Paqueta showed great technique, first dribbling the ball over Nathan Patterson's head and then cutting the ball sharply into the box, but Jarrod Bowen's initial attempt missed the mark, leaving a sense of wasted opportunities.

Half-Time - West Ham 0-0 Everton:

By the end of the first half, neither team had been able to break the impasse. The most notable opportunity came from West Ham, as Bowen just missed the mark. But Everton had its moments when Harrison put Areola to the test. The contest stayed fairly balanced, with Everton gradually gaining the upper hand and West Ham's intensity waning.

Second Half - Calvert-Lewin Seals the Deal:

Everton got the better of things early in the second half and soon found themselves ahead.

At the 51st minute, Dominic Calvert-Lewin showed remarkable composure after receiving a fantastic assist from Jack Harrison. Calvert-Lewin broke the deadlock elegantly by slicing past West Ham's defense and placing a crisp strike across the goal and into the bottom corner.

In the sixtyth minute, Everton had an opportunity to extend their advantage. Calvert-Lewin positioned Abdoulaye Doucoure so that he could speak with Alphonse Areola one-on-one. Areola, though, made an important save to stifle the chance.

Onana of Everton sent a perfectly timed through pass to Calvert-Lewin in the 75th minute, but his effort just missed the crossbar. The offside flag was raised, although the decision was close.

West Ham had several late opportunities as they persisted in their pursuit of an equalizer. Lucas Paqueta sent in a risky cross, and Pickford produced an incredible stop to deny Bowen's effort.

Here we have the exciting Premier League match between Everton and West Ham. After an exciting contest, Dominic Calvert-Lewin helped Everton overcome West Ham in a hard-fought victory.

Full-Time - West Ham 0-1 Everton:

With a fantastic finish by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton was able to secure a vital victory at the end of the encounter. Though they had their chances, West Ham was unable to find the back of the net. In a fiercely contested match, Everton maintained their recent form trend by winning all three points.

For Everton, it was Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 50th Premier League goal that proved to be the game-winning score. Jordan Pickford's heroics in goalkeeping and Everton's unwavering defense denied West Ham's offensive attempts.

Now, both teams will turn their attention to the EFL Cup, with Everton hosting Burnley and West Ham hosting Arsenal. There were plenty of exciting and suspenseful moments in this captivating encounter. Until we meet again, bye!
